Works on Paper: 1940’s-50’s
Touster concentrated on cartooning through most of the 1940's. In 1947, his use of his cartoon line morphed into cubist-like illustrations. As the decade ended, he often added more shading, a thicker line, and paint to his works on paper. The 1950's saw an explosion of output in both painting and drawing, with 1953 being an especially productive year for him.
