Works on Paper: Wax Drawings

In 1966, Touster began using wax as a sculpture medium, and for the next three years he made hundreds of three-dimensional figures and faces. While heating up the wax to create his sculptures, he began to experiment with painting the hot wax on paper, and thus began a series he called Wax Drawings, which were essentially two-dimensional studies for his wax sculptures.
