Works on Paper: Life Drawings
Touster made thousands of life drawings from the 1960s through the 1980s. Often with other artists participating, he would hire models to sketch, and at Parsons School of Design he would occasionally sit in on life drawing classes taking place in the school's Fine Arts department. Using these drawing for reference, he would incorporate the models’ positions into his finished paintings and drawings. He rarely showed the figures facial features in his finished work, but they were usually included in the life drawings.
