Prints: Monoprints
After moving into his Woodstock barn in 1970, Touster dusted off his old printing press and began a series of monoprints, which were essentially printed paintings. He would apply slow drying oil paint to a plastic plate, and then run it through the press to create a one-of-a-kind print.
Touster did hundreds of paintings on the plastic plates, but only a small fraction of them were ever turned into monoprints.
